The 2nd NY city trip_Dec 7/2013

Dec. 7, 2013
Waked up at 8am.
柏舜 picked me up at 9am at Davenport. We rode to Flushing for my first task today -- buying "the movie ticket."

Due to the difficulty of finding a parking lot at weekend, 柏舜 dropped me off in front of a driving school. It turns out that the master who is capable of teaching is absent, so that the school cannot sell me the ticket. However, the manager is so nice that she directed me to the other driving school nearby. Soon I had gotten my movie ticket with $45 in 福州駕駛學校, saving 5 hours. After that we bought some bread and sweet tofu.

We also went to the New World Mall (新世界商城) in Flushing at about 10am, which is really cool really Taiwanese/Chinese! 柏舜 left after buying some groceries in the supermarket and I stayed until the food court had opened at 10:30.

I ate the 刈包 and 魚丸湯. Honestly, those foods in TW are more delicious, but in this situation I was satisfied with eating the substitutes and thinking the original ones. (PS: Joan strongly recommends the 麻辣煲. Maybe I should try it next time.) Oh~ it takes only $6 to cut hair in flushing. I definitely will take mine here.

By Subway I arrived in NYC. Actually I had missed a Subway station, so it's 12:00 when I was in UNIQLO. I shopped for my cheap socks, underpants, T-shirt and hoodie, and found it had already been 10 mins to 1pm that is the time I should show up at the Starbucks of Astro Place Station!

My delay made our union a little bit more difficult since Lydia and Joan never see each other. Finally we made it and arrived in Porsena before 1:30 pm. It is little sad that I cannot order the meals I had seen the night before that day because we didn't showed up for dinner but brunch. Here is what I ordered.

The orange ricotta pancake with grilled almond in maple syrup (not sure for the name) is awesome! I like sweet food~ A_A

Thanks to Lydia and Joan we had a delicious NYC trip comprising first Porsena, then CoCo bubble tea, Shake Shack burger (and its shack-cam XDXD), and finally LadyM (like Mille Crêpes!!)~ On the way we talked a lot about NY, Dubai, United States and our plans for future. What an informative and pleasing walk in NY city.

Thereafter we said goodbye to each other. On the way of Long Island RailRoad home, I just can't believe that you have to spend more money from Syosset Station to CSHL than that from Penn Station of NYC to Syosset Station, so I made up my mind -- with the uplifting music and indicating LED by my yellow iPhone5C, which is exactly the same one as Joan's, I literally walked home. Yep, 1 h and 15 min walk, $10. 柏舜 is really amazing. After driving home he went to lab for some experiments and thereafter gave me my bread and sweet tofu. I appreciated so much.
